I've been posting everyday over at the main DG site. The posts of the past couple of days are rather bedraggled, but the ones from the past couple of weeks have some heart flowing. Hope you'll forgive me for not double posting, but come on over if you'd like to take a peek at NaBloPoMo on parade . . . :)

Kate I love those snows early where the snow just touches all the earth colors and disappears by afternon.

I just read “This Fire” about Cass.  Thank you for sharing.  I never fancied myself a “cat person.”  Never considered myself the kind who equates pets with family.  However, I was watching my best friend's cat when she was away camping, and it just so happened to be the weekend he was at the losing end of a blockage which was toxifying his insides.  It was about the saddest, most traumatic thing I've been through.  I don't fear death.  I don't wonder “why” when death comes.  However, I have an extremely difficult time with suffering.  Watching him suffer really tore me up.  It seemed like everything I did to help hurt him.  I didn't have money to pay for a vet and they were unsympathetic.  I've rarely felt so helpless as that moment in time.  When she got back, she took him in and they put him to sleep.  That experience really shifted my relationship with the little furry ones.  Too bad it took that to open my eyes, but I am grateful for the lesson.  I am sorry for your loss, and happy for the connection it brought you in the end.
